The First Step – Selecting the Venue

Selecting the perfect venue for your big day is likely the first major step you will take (after getting engaged, of course!) in the planning process. The venue is also going to be the largest purchase when allocating your budget, which means you want to ensure you find the perfect spot. The recent trend for Ontario wedding venues, especially amid the Covid pandemic, are spaces that have large properties with ample outdoor space. These allow for proper compliancy relating to Covid regulations and restrictions. Caledon wedding venues, just outside of Toronto, are becoming increasingly more popular for this reason.

Why Caledon?

Caledon, Ontario is known as a beautiful destination area, with rolling hills and expansive land. It has quickly become a popular area for weddings due to the close proximity to Toronto and the culmination of Headwaters, feeling hours away from the city life despite being only 45 minutes away.

Covid Restrictions Factoring In

Current Covid restrictions floating between 10 – 100 people outdoors for social events in all coloured zones, outdoor tented weddings for 2021 will be the biggest draw in order to accommodate as many guests as possible. Many couples have already postponed their big day from 2020, so they wish to get married this summer/fall at the latest. It is, of course, also top of mind ensuring the venue can keep all guests and vendors as safe as possible. In order to host a tented wedding, you need greenspace to accommodate. A big perk, would be the stunning views and the fresh air. Tented weddings also have the potential to accommodate most visions, from rustic to glamorous. You can incorporate ceiling draping, fancy lighting/chandeliers, dance floor motifs, etc. The options are endless and still give you the same feel as hosting your wedding in a ballroom or indoor venue space.

While a tented outdoor event may not have been your initial vision, it is still a beautiful way to celebrate the beginning of the rest of your lives together!
